Peer Leader High School Program
The GameChanger Peer Leader Program gives high school students the chance to lead by example and help promote health living in their school. Students in grades 9–12 are nominated by both peers and school staff for their ability to set a positive example and support others.
Peer Leaders work with GameChanger Coaches to share messages about healthy, substance-free choices and help build a school culture where those choices are visible, supported, and expected.
What Peer Leaders Do
-
Support prevention messages that challenge the idea that “everyone is doing it”
-
Promote the truth about substance use through schoolwide activities
-
Show what leadership looks like through everyday actions
-
Encourage peers to make safe, responsible decisions
-
Help shape a school culture where staying substance-free is the norm
With support from GameChanger Coaches and school staff, Peer Leaders learn how to lead in ways that make a real difference—helping to create a school culture where healthy decisions are encouraged and supported.
